Montana is recovering from the recession more slowly than other states, according to Moody's Analytics, but there are reasons for optimism: Montana came in fourth best in the nation for entrepreneurship and innovation, according to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Montana also saw its payroll employment grow 1.5 percent from June 2010 to June 2011, one the largest increases in the country for that period according to the BLS.
