Colleges and Universities in Nevada

Tourism, not surprisingly, is Nevada's top industry and brings in more than $58 billion to the state economy each year, according to the Nevada Commission on Tourism. Students seeking to start a career in tourism or one of Nevada's other major employment sectors can get a leg up with a postsecondary education in the state. These include the University of Nevada, which has campuses in Las Vegas and Reno, Nevada State College with a campus in Henderson and several community college-systems. The school is also home to a few private colleges including Sierra Nevada College, at Lake Tahoe, which offers unique degrees in fields like sustainability and outdoor adventure leadership as well as more traditional programs.
